Hi, my name is Janet Boardwell. I am the owner and head chef at Joy Filled Catering. With 23 years of cooking and catering experience, I have provided meals for hundreds of occasions, serving small and large groups in a variety of different settings. I look forward to the privilege of serving you at your next event.

A Little Catering History

I learned to cook as a child beside my mother, helping to prepare family dinners and food for other special occasions. I always loved being in the kitchen, watching and participating in the activities of cooking for a large crowd. As I got older, my burning desire to feed people motivated me to continue to develop my cooking skills and pursue a career in the catering industry.

My first real catering job was to provide the food and refreshments for a friend's wedding. Partnering with another gal, we worked to make it the best party that the guests had ever experienced.  The success of that event secured our calling as caterers, and we launched into business, ready to cook for whomever would hire us.

Catering to Your Needs

Although my partner has moved on to other endeavors, I have continued to make people happy and full with my catering. I have helped plan and prepare for church functions, weddings, family and class reunions, birthday parties, funeral luncheons, and camps. I have even cooked overseas, in Spain, for two months at a missionary camp.

Although we have a full menu of meal options, we try hard to provide exactly what you want for your special event. It is not a problem for us to adapt recipes to accommodate food allergies or specific tastes. We can provide theme-based meals around certain foods and ingredients, and will even work with you to put together that special ethnic-themed menu. If you have an "old family recipe" that you would like to share with your guests, we will be happy to try to duplicate it for you, so that others can share in a taste of your family traditions.
